The National Weather Service in Wilmington says a widespread winter storm could drop less than an inch of ice and freezing rain across central Ohio.

Highs will reach the upper 20s on Wednesday with cloudy skies throughout the day and a slight chance for snow showers in the afternoon. The National Weather Service’s forecast calls for snow showers mixing with freezing rain late Wednesday evening through early Thursday morning.

The National Weather Service says "impactful" winter weather is coming to Greater Akron. There is a threat of freezing rain, sleet and even snow throughout northern Ohio starting Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Some "light" ice accumulations are possible.
