Real Madrid will have to get past Leganes in the Copa del Rey quarterfinals without Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham. Coming off a shocking 1–0 defeat to Espanyol at the weekend, Real Madrid will be eager to get back to winning ways against Leganes.

Real Madrid have filed a formal complaint to the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) asking for the “immediate submission of VAR audio” related to two decisions in their 1-0 defeat by Espanyol. The complaint follows referee Alejandro Muniz Ruiz’s decision to show Espanyol defender Carlos Romero a yellow card for a 60th-minute challenge on Kylian Mbappe as well as a disallowed goal by Vinicius Junior in the 21st minute after a foul by the France forward.

Real Madrid have taken the legal route after officially filing a complaint against Spanish refereeing. This comes in the wake of their shock loss at Espanyol when Kylian Mbappé was brought down by Carlos Romero with a studs-up challenge, with the defender only receiving a yellow card before bagging the winner in the 85th minute.
