ESPN has made a giant announcement on broadcasting plans for 'Monday Night Football' announcer Joe Buck in 2025.

A few weeks ago, (ESPN senior VP of production) Mark Gross called Buck to ask if he would do Opening Day. Buck was intrigued. When Gross said the game is at Yankee Stadium, Buck was fully sold, even though he had expressed reluctance to return to baseball — which he doesn’t follow as closely — since leaving Fox.

Joe Buck will return to the baseball booth on Opening Day. The legendary broadcaster will call the Yankees’ season-opener against the Brewers on March 27 for ESPN. It’s the first time Buck, 55, will be the play-by-play man for a national baseball game since the 2021 World Series.
