The French Prime Minister, the centrist François Bayrou, faces Wednesday two motions of censure, presented by the left and have little chance of progress after the Socialists announced that they would not support them.

The head of France’s far-right National Rally party says he doesn’t support a no-confidence motion filed against the government, making it more likely that the prime minister will remain in office and a 2025 budget will be adopted.

Prime Minister François Bayrou broke a blockade of opposition parties that had brought down the government of his predecessor by doling out a series of concessions.
