President Donald Trump quickly signed off on executive orders on Monday, his first day in the Oval Office. He also pardoned over 1,500 people charged with attacking the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, 34 of them from South Carolina.

A man who served time for his role in the Capitol riot has rejected his pardon from Trump, who he no longer supports since recovering from alcoholism.

Senator Lindsey Graham, a longtime ally of Donald Trump, criticized on Sunday the president's pardon of about 1,500 of his supporters who attacked the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, saying it could lead to more violence.

Lindsey Graham, a staunch ally of President Donald Trump, called pardons of violent Jan. 6 offenders who assaulted police officers “a mistake.” Graham speaking Sunday on Meet the Press said the country may need to reexamine presidential pardon power after Trump’s move hours after he was inaugurated and President Joe Biden’s decision to pardon family members before leaving office.
