Certain Tesla models have been recalled due a computer circuit board shortage causing the vehicles' rearview cameras to not display images properly.

A faulty rearview camera in some Teslas fails to properly display images, increasing the risk of a crash, traffic regulators say.

Tesla has decided to recall approximately 239,000 vehicles due to a defect that could prevent the rear-view camera from displaying an image, Reuters reported. The issue is expected to be resolved through an over-the-air software update,

Tesla estimates that just 2% of the recalled vehicles actually have this defect. The automaker has identified 887 warranty claims and 68 field reports related to this issue, but it told the NHTSA that it's unaware of any related collisions, injuries, or fatalities.

The company, in an announcement, is recalling around 239,000 units associated with a fault in the rear-view camera system. The failure, Reuters cited, comes when a reverse current causes the camera not to function as expected and thereby represents a potential risk to safety that may result for drivers.
