The man, from Danville, won the prize playing the Kentucky Lottery's Lucky For Life game. He told lottery officials he started playing the game 12 years ago after seeing a commercial for it. The man purchased his ticket from the Five Star on Jan 30, finding out he won the $25,000 for life prize the day after.

This marks the second time in just two months that someone in Kentucky has won $25,000 a year for life on the Lucky For Life® game.

According to the Kentucky Lottery, the man (who wishes to remain anonymous), purchased a $10 Lucky For Life ticket for five sets of numbers at the Five Star on Denmark Drive for the Jan. 30 drawing.

A Kentucky woman has won $1 million after stopping to purchase a lottery ticket while out to get herself some ice cream.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Montgomery County woman wanted some ice cream, but instead won $1 million by playing the Kentucky Lottery. The woman, who wants to remain anonymous, planned to stop for a Dairy Queen Blizzard last week. But first, she stopped at a Mt. Sterling Shell station to buy a $20 Kentucky Jackpot ticket.
