Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin says the ETH community should be doubling down on layer-2 scaling solutions to strengthen its ecosystem.
Vitalik Buterin, the prominent figure behind Ethereum has published an article detailing the ecosystem’s plans to scale its L1 and L2 solutions on his blog. According to the article, Ethereum will remain committed to building a global censorship-free and permissionless blockchain.
The shake-up comes as Ethereum's reputation among builders has soured in recent months. Members of the broader crypto community are flocking to fast and cheap competitors like Solana, which has been quicker to accommodate the recent memecoin fervor.
Buterin called for implementing incentives for layer 2 networks to allocate a portion of their fees to ETH using mechanisms like burning fees and staking.
