The United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, the first Gulf countries to normalize relations with Israel under the 2020 Abraham Accords, have condemned recent Israeli proposals to relocate Palestinians to Saudi Arabia.

President Trump told reporters last month that he would urge the leaders of Jordan and Egypt to take in Gaza's now largely homeless population.

Egypt and Jordan, along with the Palestinians, worry that Israel would never allow them to return to Gaza once they have left.

Egypt condemned statements by Israeli officials suggesting the establishment of a Palestinian state on Saudi territory as "irresponsible" on Saturday. Egypt's foreign ministry said in a statement the idea was a "direct infringement of Saudi sovereignty" and that the kingdom's security was a "red line for Egypt".

Saudi Arabia affirmed its categorical rejection of remarks by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about displacing Palestinians from their land, the foreign ministry said in a statement on Sunday.
