USC's defense gave Michigan State basketball's upcoming opponents a blueprint to try and emulate by taking the Spartans out of transition.

The Spartans get to the line a ton (23.2 attempts per game) and have the fourth-best free-throw percentage (80.3%) in the country. UCLA tends to foul too much, which is its main concern on that end of the court in this matchup.

UCLA (16-6, 7-4 Big Ten) is unranked and is coming off a 78-52 home win over Oregon in its most recent game on Jan. 30. This will be just the 12th all-time meeting between the two programs, with UCLA holding a 7-4 advantage in the series.
