A federal judge blocks Trump's executive order ending birthright citizenship for children of people in the U.S. illegally, saying he's not persuaded by the administration's arguments.

U.S. President Donald Trump's effort to curtail automatic birthright citizenship as part of his immigration crackdown suffered a further setback as a third federal judge said on Monday he would block it.

Joseph N. Laplante, chief judge for the federal district court in New Hampshire, said he was not persuaded by arguments an attorney for the US Department of Justice presented in defense of Trump’s order.
