Mikaela Shiffrin says she is dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder following a crash in November and will not defend her gold medal in giant slalom at the Alpine skiing world championships.

The well-decorated racer is coping with the mental fallout of a scary crash she suffered last November in Killington, Vermont.

United States skier Mikaela Shiffrin won't be defending her title in the women's giant slalom event at the World Alpine Skiing Championships this month. Following a scary crash in November 2024, Shiffrin revealed she is still dealing with PTSD related to the accident.
